Barbara Cleugh

 

 

 

 

Barbara Cleugh was born in Longhorsley, Northumberland, England and christened on 14 June 1812 at St Helen’s, Longhorsley, the fifth child of William Cleugh and Dorothy Hunter.

 

Barbara had an illegitimate son:

 

·         Matthew Cleugh born Longhorsley and christened 25 November 1832 at St Helen’s, Longhorsley married Ann ? of Alnwick about 1854.

 

Matthew, a mason, and Ann were the parents of:

 

·         Ann Cleugh born Oct-Dec 1855 in North Shields, Tynemouth;

·         Alice Jobson Cleugh born Jul-Sep 1857 in North Shields died in Gateshead, Co. Durham in Apr-Jun 1867 aged 9 years;

·         William Cleugh born Jan-Mar 1860 in North Shields; and

·         Matthew Cleugh born Oct-Dec 1867 in Gateshead, Co. Durham.

 

Barbara married William Lambert on 21 February 1837 at All Saints, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

 

Barbara and William, a husbandman, were the parents of:

 

·         Dorothy Lambert born North Shields and christened 6 August 1837 at All Saints, Newcastle Upon Tyne;

·         Ann Lambert born 15 August 1840 in Church Road, North Shields and christened 4 October 1840 at Christ Church, Tynemouth died prior to the 1851 Census;

·         William Lambert born Oct-Dec 1842 in North Shields;

·         Margaret Lambert born North Shields and christened 8 June 1845 at Christ Church, Tynemouth;

·         John Lambert born 22 August 1849 in North Shields and christened 16 September 1849 at Christ Church, Tynemouth; and

·         Ann Lambert born 13 September 1851 in North Shields and christened 5 October 1851 at Christ Church, Tynemouth.

 

Nothing more is known about the family at this stage.
