Descendants of

Mary Stewart Kilgour & James Edmond

Mary Stewart Kilgour was born in 1845 in the city of York, Yorkshire, England, the fourth child of George Kilgour and Mary Chapman.

Mary married James Edmond on 13 December 1863 at Christ Church, Tynemouth, Northumberland.

Mary and James were the parents of:

·              Mary Jane Edmond born in Fintray, Aberdeen, Scotland on 30 October 1864 and christened 23 April 1865 at Christ Church, Tynemouth, Northumberland;

·              James William Edmond born 5 November 1866 in North Shields and christened at Christ Church, Tynemouth on 7 December 1866;

·              George Edward Edmond born about 1868 in North Shields; and

·              Thomas Albert Edmond born in 1871 in North Shields died in North Shields in 1872, aged 1 year.

James Edmond died in North Shields prior to the 1871 Census.

Mary Edmond nee Kilgour then had an illegitimate daughter:

·              Lilian Edmond born in North Shields about 1873.

Mary Edmond nee Kilgour married John Collins (born about 1842 in Sunderland, Co. Durham) in 1878 in North Shields.

Mary and John do not appear to have had any children. On the 1891 Census they were looking after Mary’s nieces Rachael and Dora Kilgour (daughters of Mary’s younger brother John Stewart Kilgour who had separated from his wife Georgina nee Mould) and John’s nephew James Collins aged 4.
