William Chapman Kilgour
William Chapman Kilgour was born at 3 Clarence Street, in the city of York, Yorkshire, England and christened at Saint Olave, York on 12 November 1843, the third child of George Kilgour and Mary Chapman.
William Chapman, a shipyard painter, married four times.
William Chapman married Mary Ann Dryden of North Shields in 1869 in Tynemouth. The couple does not appear to have had any children.
Mary Ann Kilgour nee Dryden died after the 1871 Census and prior to 1872.
William Chapman married Elizabeth Eleanor Henry from Gateshead, Co. Durham in 1872 in Tynemouth.
William Chapman and Elizabeth Eleanor had four children:

William George Kilgour born in 1873 in
North Shields;
·
Andrew Teasdale Kilgour born at Queen
Street, North Shields and christened at St Peter’s, Tynemouth on 25 April 1877 died
at Queen Street, North Shields in 1877;
·
Laura Kilgour born at Queen Street, North
Shields and christened at St Peter’s, Tynemouth on 4 December 1878 died in
1879; and
·
Elizabeth Eleanor Kilgour born in 1880 in
North Shields.
Elizabeth
Eleanor Kilgour nee Henry died after the 1881 Census and prior to 1885.
William Chapman married Margaret Brown in 1885 in South Shields. The couple does not appear to have had any children.
Margaret
Kilgour nee Brown died in 1888 in South Shields, aged 35 years.
William Chapman married Isabella Carruthers on 28 October 1888 at St Michael’s, South Shields.
William
Chapman and Isabella had three children:

Mary Jane Kilgour born in 1889 in South
Shields;
·
Margaret Ann Kilgour born
15 February 1891 in South Shields and christened at St Hilda’s, South Shields on
8 March 1891; and
·
William Chapman Kilgour born 23 September
1897 in South Shields.
William
Chapman died in 1897 in South Shields, aged 52 years.
