Spoor(s)
Ann Mould was born at Horsley in the
parish of Ovingham, Northumberland, England and christened at St Mary’s,
Ovingham on 27 February 1776, the fourth child of William Mould
and Elizabeth Elliott.
Ann married William
Spoor(s) of Whickham, Co. Durham (christened 21 November 1779 at St
Mary’s, Whickham, the son of William Spoor(s) and Isabel
Smith) on 13 January 1802 at St Andrew’s, Lamesley, Co. Durham.
Ann and William,
a coalminer, were the parents of:

Isabel Spoor(s) born 29 August 1802 in Swalwell, Whickham, Co. Durham and christened
at St Mary’s, Whickham on 7 November 1802;
·
William Spoor(s) born 6 May 1804 in Usworth, Washington and
christened 16 September 1804 at Holy Trinity, Washington, Co. Durham married Isabella
Fenwick (born 18 May 1812 at Felling Shore, Heworth, the daughter of Richard
Fenwick and Isabella Holmes) on 10 June 1833 at St John
the Baptist, Newcastle Upon Tyne;

John Spoor(s) born 8 September 1806 in St John’s, Newcastle Upon Tyne and christened
at St Mary’s, Whickham on 8 February 1807;
·
Robert Spoor(s) born 13 April 1809 at Heworth Lane, Co. Durham and christened at St
Mary’s, Heworth on 10 September 1809 died prior to 1816;
·
Elizabeth Spoor(s) (twin) born 25 January 1811 and christened 16 June
1811 at St Nicholas, Gosforth, Northumberland married John Gent
of Gosforth on 14 October 1843 at St John’s, Benwell, Newcastle Upon Tyne (Elizabeth
and John are the ancestors of cousin Lesley M Huppert);

Male (possibly Joseph) Spoor(s) (twin) born 25 January 1811 and christened
16 June 1811 at St Nicholas, Gosforth, Northumberland; [NOTE: Please see below.]
·
Mary Anne Spoor(s) born at Dean Houses in the parish of Gosforth,
Northumberland and christened 17 March 1814 at St Nicholas, Gosforth;
·
Robert Spoor(s) (twin) born at Dean Houses and christened 10 July 1816 at St Nicholas,
Gosforth died at Dean Houses and was buried on 23 July 1816 at St Nicholas,
Gosforth aged 2 weeks; and
·
Hannah Spoor(s) (twin) born at Dean Houses and christened 10 July
1816 at St Nicholas, Gosforth died at Dean Houses and was buried on 23 July
1816 at St Nicholas, Gosforth aged 2 weeks.
William Spoor(s) died at Dean Houses in the
parish of Gosforth, Northumberland and was buried at St Nicholas, Gosforth on
25 November 1827, aged 49 years.
Ann Spoor(s) nee Mould died after the 1861 Census.

[NOTE: The parish
register for St Nicholas, Gosforth recorded Elizabeth’s twin
brother as William. However, older brother William
was still alive and well! On the 1861 Census for Longbenton Ann Spoor nee
Mould (born c1776 in Horsley, Northumberland) was living with Grandson Richard
Spoor (born c1835 in Gosforth Row, Longbenton), son of William
(born 1804 in Usworth, Co. Durham) and Isabella nee Fenwick. The
identity of Elizabeth’s male twin has still to be confirmed.
