Benjamin Mould & Mary Swan

 

 

 

 

Benjamin Mould was born at Nailor’s Shops in the parish of Washington, Co. Durham, England, and christened 24 July 1814 at Washington Holy Trinity, the fourth child of William Mould and Anne Porter.

 

Benjamin married Mary Swan of Usworth, Co. Durham on 16 November 1835 at Christ Church, Tynemouth, Northumberland.

 

Benjamin, a boot and shoemaker, and Mary were the parents of:

 

·        Eleanor Mould born in Usworth, Co. Durham and christened 8 January 1836 at Holy Trinity, Usworth;

 

·        William Matthew Mould born in Usworth and christened 28 July 1839 at Holy Trinity, Usworth, died in Usworth and was buried at Holy Trinity, Usworth on 16 December 1869 aged 30 years;

 

·        Mary Jane Mould born about 1841 in Usworth;

·        Matthew Benjamin Mould born in Hauxley (near Amble), Northumberland and christened at St Lawrence, Warkworth on 26 February 1843 was married twice.

 

Matthew married his first wife Isabella Jane Stobart nee Nicholson (born in New York, Co. Durham and christened 12 July 1835 at Holy Trinity, Washington, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Ann Nicholson) in 1867 at St John the Baptist, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

 

Matthew, a butcher, and Isabella Jane were the parents of:

 

·        John Thomas S Mould born in 1868 in Birtley, Co. Durham; and

·        Mary Isabella Mould born in 1870 in Birtley died in Birtley in 1872 aged 2 years.

 

Isabella Jane Mould nee Nicholson died in Birtley in 1872 aged 37 years.

 

Matthew married Elizabeth Cheeseman Tate (born about 1848 in Murton Colly, Co. Durham) in 1875.

 

Matthew and Elizabeth were the parents of:

 

·        Matthew Benjamin Mould born in Felling, Co. Durham in 1877 died in Felling in 1885 aged 8 years; and

·        George William Mould born in Felling in 1880.

 

Matthew died in Felling in August 1891 aged 48 years; and

·        Robert Porter Mould born in Amble, Northumberland and christened 7 December 1845 at St Lawrence, Warkworth married Elizabeth Brown (born about 1848 in Waggonsway Row, Co. Durham) in 1873 at St John the Baptist, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

 

Robert Porter, a blacksmith, and Elizabeth were the parents of:

 

·        Mary Mould born in 1874 in Benwell, Newcastle Upon Tyne;

·        Mary Isabella Mould born in 1875 in Benwell;

·        Ann Mould born in 1878 in Benwell;

·        Benjamin Mould born in 1880 in Benwell;

·        Elizabeth Mould born in 1881 in Benwell; and

·        Robert Porter Mould born in 1883 in Benwell.

 

Robert Porter died in Benwell in 1883 aged 37 years.

 

Mary Mould nee Swan died in Usworth and was buried at Holy Trinity, Usworth on 6 March 1870 aged 59 years.

 

Benjamin died in Benwell, Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1872, aged 58 years.
