John Mould was born in Eighton Banks, Lamesley, Co. Durham, England and christened on 29 August 1790 (amended 10/8/08 ~ christened 29 August not 28 as previously transcribed) at St Andrew’s, Lamesley, the youngest child of William Mould and Elizabeth Elliott.

 

John married Ann Dawson of Houghton Le Spring on 18 November 1816 at St Michael’s, Houghton Le Spring.

 

John, a coalminer, and Ann were the parents of: 

 

·         Margaret Mould born Philadelphia, Newbottle and christened 30 November 1817 at St Michael’s, Houghton Le Spring;

 

·         William Mould born Philadelphia, Newbottle and christened 12 December 1819 at St Michael’s, Houghton Le Spring married Alice Green on 9 November 1839 at St Michael’s, Houghton Le Spring;

 

·         Elizabeth Mould born Philadelphia, Newbottle and christened 17 March 1822 at St Michael’s, Houghton Le Spring;

 

·         Ann Mould born Philadelphia, Newbottle and christened 18 July 1824 at St Michael’s, Houghton Le Spring married James Fairley on 4 September 1841 at St Michael’s, Houghton Le Spring;

 

·         John Mould born Philadelphia, Newbottle and christened 8 October 1826 at St Michael’s, Houghton Le Spring;

 

·         Thomas Mould born 10 October 1834 at Success Row, Newbottle and christened at St Michael’s, Houghton Le Spring on 19 April 1835;

 

·         Cuthbert Mould born 4 August 1835 at Success Row, Newbottle and christened at St Michael’s, Houghton Le Spring on 22 October 1837; and

 

·         Mary Jane Mould born 12 September 1837 at Success Row, Newbottle and christened at St Michael’s, Houghton Le Spring on 22 October 1837 married John Horn in 1857. New Link!

 

John died in Auckland RD on 24 December 1876 aged 86 years.

 

Ann Mould nee Dawson died in Auckland RD on 4 December 1878 aged 80 years.
