Not every prisoner is some criminal a judge has sentenced for a violation of the law of the State. Not every prison is made of stone and steel.
The hard, black, cold bars of insane asylums surround some of the blackest prisons in the world. They are like solid granite mountains, immovable and permanent. Millions of people are locked up, and many are tired down, in these monuments of man’s failure to find the solution for mental agony.
Millions of others – you may be one of them – are not locked up in an actual physical building, but are imprisoned just as surely in prisons of their own making. They are so fettered by their fears and frustrations, their problems and angers, their unforgiveness and unbelief, that they cannot enjoy the liberty Christ died to give them, nor the abundant life He promised to those who would take hold of it by faith.
But there is relief. There is a way out of even the darkest prisons of despair and self-pity. Miracles are happening today. I could tell you of thousands, but I must limit this book to only a few real, live illustrations of what God is doing in people who are alive today.
Prisons of all kinds are being invaded with praise. Your prison, whatever its form, can be invaded, and you can be transformed by a joy that passes your understanding. Learn the secret of freedom through praise and you will see your situations change. Better yet, you yourself will be changed, never to be a prisoner again. Freedom is real. Freedom is forever. Freedom comes through praise.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty
wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke
of bondage. (Gal. 5:1)
